Explanatory Notes

(This Explanatory Note does not form part of these Sentencing Guidelines and Practice Direction but intend to explain its purport)

These Guidelines and Practice Directions set out the procedure and factors to be taken into consideration for sentencing of a person convicted of drugs and related offences for the purpose of ensuring uniformity in sentencing without derogating from the statutory punishments and inherent discretion conferred on a Judge to determine and impose sentences.
